Role & company details: 
We are seeking an experienced Structural engineer with a passion for steel design and good exposure to production / product design environments to join our client's engineering design team.  Ideally you will have extensive design experience across structural systems including ceilings, access floors, steel connections and containment solutions. Our client is leader in providing structural grid ceiling systems and access flooring solutions with many acoustical, strength and performance features ideal for various applications, including but not limited to retail stores, warehouses, distribution centres, medical facilities, data centres, sports arenas, and other indoor facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed structural analysis, calculations, produce designs and design documentation using relevant software and industry standards, experience with seismic analysis is essential. 
• Collaborate with architects, design team, project managers and other engineering professionals.
• Resolve a range of engineering issues and problems, compile technical reports and accompanying presentations
• Manage the verification of the design in accordance with the quality system.
• Liaise with your team and industry experts to maintain your knowledge and understanding of trends and technology in structural engineering.
• Provide input on technical direction for engineering elements of products undertaken by the company.
• Bring a high level of professionalism and great communication skills to carry out stakeholder interaction with clients, providing recommendations for solutions and needed actions.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards or vulnerabilities in structures for potential impact on safety and functionality.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Tertiary Qualification in Engineering
• Member of Engineers Australia and PE certified 
• Ambition to work towards your RPEng or CPEng.
• 3-5 year+ local experience in a production and or design consultant environment.
• Understanding of construction methods and their effect on design.
• Understanding of Australian standards.
• Extensive experience with Strcutrual Steel Design (essential)
• Flexible and adaptable to working across a variety of product lines and projects
