Senior Civil Engineer - Community Development & Urban Development

Our client is a Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Consulting firm with over 50 years of history delivering engineering projects in Australia and across the South Pacific region. This firm offers services throughout the entire project life-cycle, from initial concept and design right through to construction and commission across a range of industries particularly Urban Development, water / drainage, transport and renewable energies. 

Due to project demands and a busy year, our client is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, and contribute to delivering best practice solutions. This role will suit an engineer that is not getting growth in their current role and is after a new challenge. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the delivery of design to ensure the project is carried out in good standards. 
  • Actively monitor the project time lines and budgets, and identify potential issues.  
  • Meet regularly with clients, stakeholders and key personnel to foster and maintain productive relationships. 
  • Be involved in pricing, proposals, tendering and approvals. 
  • Overlook and mentor a team of designers and engineers.
  • Contribute to a positive culture within the organisation and ensure the team is also doing the same. 
About you:
  • Holding a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of the broader team to meet project goals and operational targets
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), document writing ability to showcase spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Great understanding and competence in 12d and AutoCAD.
  • Drainage design and flood modelling is highly desirable (TUFLOW / HEC-RAS).
  • Knowledge of SEQ market, Australian Standards and local council design standards. 
  • Urban development background, with previous experience in residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions.
  • RPEQ registration (or ability to gain) is highly desirable.
