About the Company:
Our client is an expanding global business offering design engineering, development and manufacturing of modular raised access floors for commercial facilities and data centre infrastructure solutions including airflow panels, structural ceilings and security caging.

About the Role:

As Head of Research and Development you will lead and oversee the development of innovative solutions and new technologies to support data centre infrastructure into the future.
Supported by the best available tools and an expert team, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to provide leading edge solutions to the complex infrastructure needs of local and global businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the design, prototyping, and testing of new products and processes, ensuring that all R&D activities align with sustainability and efficiency objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, product management, and sales to ensure that R&D projects align with business objectives and industry needs.
  • Ensure R&D projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and performance objectives, delivering high-quality solutions to meet industry demands.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing R&D team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain close relationships with external partners, clients, and research institutions, ensuring the business stays at the forefront of industry development.
  • Oversee IP strategy and management ensuring all innovations are protected and align with long-term business objectives.
  • Attend industry events and conferences, promoting the business as a market leader in innovative data centre infrastructure solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience managing a team to deliver successful R&D projects or development initiatives.
  • Proven technical expertise in M & E design, steel fabrication, and modular/ integrated services and fabrication.
  • Experience managing R&D budgets and ensuring optimal allocation of resources while addressing sustainability challenges.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support R&D operations and attend industry events.
