CULTURAL HERITAGE OFFICER
Our client is a global Renewable Energy leader, manufacturer of oil and lubricants for the automotive and industrial applications industries.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a Cultural Heritage Officer to join the team based at their Perth CBD office – to support the Australian Renewable Energy Project's cultural heritage survey program.
This role will assist with the planning and execution of heritage surveys and heritage management activity critical to the continuity of this exciting renewables project's schedules, in accordance with legislative and Agreement obligations
- The role will be pivotal in developing and maintaining mutually respectful and strong relationships with Traditional Owners and their representatives to facilitate this work

This will be an exciting contract role that offers diverse daily duties, requiring a high level of people and communication skills, emotional intelligence, influencing and integration capability, supporting the scheduling, scoping and delivery of heritage surveys and related field activities.
What You Will Deliver:
- Plan and coordinate safe working practices of field-based activities
- Supervise and provide coaching for heritage field survey teams (contractors & Traditional Owners) in line with client’s safety systems and processes and critical risk management
- Maintaining cultural heritage compliance and fieldwork documentation, equipment, assets, and fleet
- Coordinate heritage consultants, heritage monitors and heritage survey representative engagement, logistics and onboarding
- Assist to coordinate cultural heritage protection and management requirements associated with site activities, including Traditional Owner participation
- Tracking and reviewing of progress against scope in consultation with heritage survey teams in the field, to ensure aligned understandings of outcomes during and at the conclusion of each field activity
Preferred Experience / Education:
- 4 years demonstrated experience in a similar role in remote field logistics, cultural heritage context including working with Traditional Owners, ideally in a Pilbara or Greenfields project context
- Tertiary qualification in Archaeology, Land Management, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience considered beneficial
- Understanding of relevant WA and Commonwealth Aboriginal heritage legislation and regulatory requirements.
- The desire and capacity to work in field with physical demands and challenging physical environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment, with a problem-solving mind-set.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, meaningful relationship building and engagement skills and the ability to influence for positive outcomes
- Computer and reporting skills, preferably with exposure to planning, safety, and compliance.
- Knowledge of GIS platforms and applications; Esri ArcGIS and use of handheld navigation devices.
- Current manual drivers licence, ideally hold a 4WD certification and currency in remote first aid (training will be provided if you don’t have)
